Provide measurements with packaging included

Measure the outside of every package, including pallets or protective packaging. State the number of packages in each size group and the total gross weight. This information helps assess handling and space requirements.

Describe the contents clearly. Mention batteries, liquids, temperature requirements or other characteristics that may require additional checks. Acceptance and any special handling need to be confirmed for the proposed shipment.

• Collection and delivery locations, including preferred airports if known
• Package count and packed length, width and height
• Total gross weight and a clear goods description
• Cargo readiness date and the date the goods are needed

Plan the whole journey

An airport arrival is not the same as delivery to the consignee. Specify whether the enquiry concerns airport-to-airport transport or also includes collection and onward delivery.

Include any loading appointments or handover requirements. Depending on the route and goods, document preparation, cargo acceptance and terminal handling can affect the overall schedule.

Air freight pricing can depend on both weight and the space occupied by the shipment. The volume shown by our enquiry calculator is a preparation aid; it is not a confirmed chargeable weight or freight price.

The route, service option, handling needs and required dates also influence the assessment. Ask which stages and charges are included, and confirm the schedule and terms before booking. A requested arrival date is not a delivery guarantee.
